Public Meetings

The Highway 24 23-acre parcel rezoning request process began in February 2021 with two voluntary public meetings which allowed the project team to present use proposal images and renderings, as well as address questions or concerns. The project was then presented to the Morehead City Planning Board and received a majority vote in support of the project.

The last step is to appear in front of the Morehead City Council to request a final conditional zoning approval for the property to move forward with the construction of the new Starling Marine facility & active senior living center. Please consider attending this rezoning public hearing at the Crystal Coast Civic Center on Wednesday, May 19, 2021, at 5:30 p.m.
